It’s a tad late for April fools. Apparently, it’s been an internal name for quite some time. Actually, back when it was first released, the URL was “www.google.com/ig”. I remember wondering at the time what the “ig” stood for.

I saw that today when my homepage loaded up. What’s the deal with that anyway? A swipe/joke at Apple’s expense?
